Karen Rinaldi, SVP/Executive Editor
Karen Rinaldi previously led two publishing companies to success, joining Bloomsbury PLC at the inception of its US division in 1999, and growing the company to five divisions publishing more than 300 titles per year. She also served on the Bloomsbury PLC Group Operating Board 2004–2008. Among the bestselling authors Rinaldi published were Anthony Bourdain, Ben Schott, Susanna Clark, Chelsea Handler, Alan Hollinghurst, Shannon Hale, and many more.
From 2008–2011, Rinaldi was Publisher and General Manager of Rodale Books, where she served on the Executive Management Committee. At Rodale, she focused on health-related titles and worked closely with the Direct Marketing team and magazine brands to develop and run the most successful books program in Rodale’s history. Among Rinaldi’s bestselling authors were Al Gore, Dr. David Kessler, William Davis, M.D., Howard Schultz, Alicia Silverstone, and Ted Danson.
Under her imprint at HarperCollins, HarperWave, Rinaldi is leveraging her extensive publishing experience to create and publish a list of broad-based health and wellness and lifestyle titles, categories that stand to make the most of what new platforms, distribution, and marketing have to offer.
Julie Will, Executive Editor
Julie has spent more than a decade on the editorial side of publishing, starting her career at Random House and then moving to Rodale where she edited books such as David Kessler’s New York Times bestseller, The End of Overeating, P90X superstar Tony Horton’s Bring It!, and the hugely successful The Biggest Loser book series. Most recently, she was Executive Talent Producer for Healthy Living at OpenSky.com, where she partnered with wellness authors and authorities such as Tracy Anderson, Alicia Silverstone, Mariel Hemingway, and Dr. Frank Lipman to develop and implement their commerce brands and partner on digital and social marketing strategies. Julie's focus in the health and wellness category for the HarperWave list includes the topics of diet and nutrition, fitness, food and cooking, and healthy lifestyle.
Jake Zebede, Editorial Assistant
Jake Zebede has been with HarperWave since its inception. In addition to assisting on all things for HarperWave, he is now editing titles for the list as well. Prior to joining Wave, he was an intern at ICM Partners. He has a B.S. from New York University.
Sydney Pierce, Editorial Assistant
Sydney graduated with honors from Franklin & Marshall College in 2013. This is her first job in publishing.
